Admissions for 2023-24
Admissions for 2023-24 will be subject to the Admissions Policy for the John Milton Academy Trust. The 2023-24 policy has been included in the Local Authority admissions details.

The national closing date for applications is 15th January 2023. All applications should be made to Suffolk County Council. The easiest and most secure way to apply for a school place is online at www.suffolk.gov.uk/admissions .
The National Offer day is 17th April 2023 and you will receive notification by email or letter from Suffolk County Council.
Admissions for Year 6 Transferring to Year 7
Admission arrangements for Year 6 students moving into Year 7 are conducted by Suffolk County Council. The national closing date for Year 7 applications is Sunday 31st October 2022. All applications should be made to Suffolk County Council. The easiest and most secure way to apply for a school place is online at www.suffolk.gov.uk/admissions .
Prospective parents must follow their identified procedures when applying for places for new intakes.
Stowupland High School, also a John Milton Academy Trust school, is the nearest secondary school for Mendlesham. As a guide, Stowupland’s main feeder primary schools are Bacton, Cedars Park, Crawfords, Freeman, Mendlesham and Old Newton.

When an applicant is unsuccessful, there is an automatic right of appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel. Details of how to appeal will be sent with the letter of refusal. This information will be sent by the Local Authority for standard entry points and by the Trust for in-year admissions.
If your child’s application for a place at the school is unsuccessful, you will be informed why admission was refused and given information about the process for hearing appeals. If you wish to appeal, you must set out the grounds for your appeal in writing and send it to the following address:
